First ascent of Manaslu from Bulgarians
We continue with the review of the successful ventures during the past 2015 year. Now we stop your attention at the first Bulgarian ascent of one of the highest peaks on the Earth. Listed under number 8 Manaslu peak rises its 8163 m at the territory of Nepal. The meaning of the name Manaslu comes from the Sanskrit word “manasa”which means spirit, translated the peak name is “The mountain of the Spirit”.
Bulgarian attempts to climb the peak started from 1992, since then were formed six expeditions, but none of them succeeded. Finally at the end of September 2015, Bulgarian mountaineer Boyan Petrov, climbs the peak and completed the list of the 8 thousanders climbed from Bulgarians.
