Bulgarians for first time on Cerro Torre, Patagonia
“Dragon’s Tail Expedition” – this is the name that gathered four Bulgarian climbers all with the same dream – the imposing tower of Cerro Torre /3 128m/. After almost a month waiting for a window of a good weather, the patience was rewarded with a success. Two of the group Martin Marovski and Viktor Varoshkin reached the summit on 6th of January and recorded the first Bulgarian ascent of this remarkable and technically difficult peak.
Days before that, Ruslan Vakrilov together with a Greek climber Panos Athanasiadis, climbed one of the smallest sisters of Cerro Torre – Aguja Poincenot /3002m/.
Congratulations, guys! We can’t imagine a better start of the new yaer for the Bulgarian mountaineering. Go ahead and we are thirsty for more good news!
